    This open house styled event is hosted by Henry Ford College in partnership with SEMCA. It is intended to expose attendees to training opportunities, connect them with companies that offer apprenticeships or job opportunities that lead to apprenticeships, and help them start developing a career pathway. Attendees will also learn about academic programs that will help them begin their journey towards an apprenticeship in the skilled trades and advanced manufacturing. The companies that have been invited to attend the event are business partners of SEMCA and Henry Ford College’s Trade and Apprentice Education department and MAT2 program. Attendees will explore apprenticeships and academic programs in Instrumentation, Process Tech, Maintenance Technician, Mechatronics Technician, HVAC, Fabrication, CNC, Machine Tool Technology, Electrician, Tool & Die.

  • Youth Apprenticeship Focusing on Skilled Trades

    In partnership with MCCC and the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters, we plan to set up experiential learning stations around the CTE Building. We will begin the event by introducing those in the apprenticeship arena at both the college and local high schools. We will then do a brief overview of registered apprenticeships in the area, intermediaries, how to get involved, and the next steps for both employers and students to be connected. The event will be held in an open house format, with students having hands-on opportunities at stations. The event concludes with tours of the CTE building and equipment and possibly a few local union reps and employer booths who may be on display that evening, connecting students with local opportunities.
