    Dorchester District Two Schools celebrates 25 Youth Apprentices in the Charleston Regional Youth Apprenticeship program with a week-long event. Monday begins with a spotlight on the invaluable role of parents. Tuesday is dedicated to honoring the visionary employers who have generously invested in building a skilled workforce and understand the long-term benefits of nurturing talent from a young age. Midweek festivities reach a crescendo with a community celebration as Youth Apprentices participate as Trident Technical College's Dr. Mary Thornley is honored at the Riverdogs Game. Thursday, rising 10th and 11th-grade students engage with Youth Apprentices at each of the district’s three high schools, who will share their personal journeys and insights into the CRYA program. Friday serves as a reflective day with social media platforms, including Instagram (@dorchesteradvance) and high school social media pages providing highlights of the week's events.

    Each year we honor those students who have committed to an Apprenticeship with a local business partner OR have enlisted in the military and are continuing their Career Pathway training. This event recognizes each individual student, their parents, and their industry sponsor or recruiter, and their Career Pathway instructor as they make their commitment in front of assembled community members, legislators, family, and classmates. We celebrate their continued learning and their focus on the future.     Join Apprenticeship Navigator, Amanda Muller with Bureau of Rehabilitation Services for an Information Session on the Summer 2024 Maine Apprenticeship Program (MAP) Tour. This session will take place on Zoom and be targeted for Vocational Rehabilitation clients who are high school students and students who are potentially eligible for Vocational Rehabilitation (has an IEP or 504 plan), and their parents/guardians. Students will preview the tour activities, participating employers, and learn what to expect on the tour.
