On March 6, 2024, the President signed an executive order on “Scaling and Expanding the Use of Registered Apprenticeships in Industries and the Federal Government and Promoting Labor-Management Forums.” The EO seeks to expand Registered Apprenticeships, which will help create more Registered Apprenticeship programs in the federal workforce, encourage agencies to provide preferences on projects to recipients that hire individuals who have participated in Registered Apprenticeship programs, and increase worker voice for federal programs and contracts. In addition, the use of Registered Apprenticeships in applying for Pathways positions is a key component of the recent updates to the Pathways Programs regulations, allowing individuals who participate in such programs another avenue of entry into federal service. Join us to learn how the Registered Apprenticeship model can serve as a valuable tool for federal agencies to build robust talent development pipelines for their workforce.
