As part of the 1st National Youth Apprenticeship Week (YAW2024), Ignite Skills Foundation is hosting virtual and in-person events to showcase and spread awareness about youth apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeships. It is targeted at middle and high school students, parents, counsellors, and teachers via pre-scheduled sessions, digital newsletters for schools around the country and social media posts. We will also showcase YAW2024 at the Ignite Skills exhibition booth at the Washington School Counselor Association Conference (March 2024). Please note this event- took place Feb 14, 2024 LUMA Apprenticeship, in collaboration with LUMA College for Technical Training and Arecibo district, recently had the opportunity to present information regarding our apprenticeship programs to students at the Arecibo Job Corps. Following the presentation, many students expressed a keen interest in joining LUMA, and we're excited to express that they will be applying for our next Line Worker opportunity from March 18-22. We believe that candidates from programs like Job Corps bring with them the highest level of accountability and gratitude for the work that LUMA is doing in Puerto Rico.
