Carter Machinery partnership with Bridging Communities Regional CTE

Bridging Communities Regional Career & Technical Center is a regional program in New Kent County that serves the six rural school divisions of Charles City, King & Queen, King William, Middlesex, New Kent, and West Point. Since it opened in 2012, Bridging Communities has hosted a Diesel Technology program. During the 2016-2017 school year, Mr. Steve Patt joined the faculty as the new Diesel Instructor. He quickly established a partnership with multiple area businesses including Carter Machinery. Since 2018, Carter Machinery has continued to provide apprenticeship opportunities for seniors that Bridging Communities has trained in the Diesel Technology program. Since 2018, this partnership has resulted in 17 Bridging Communities students getting hired Carter as Diesel Tech Apprentices upon high school graduation. Students will be provided information during NAW regarding the Carter Machinery's Apprenticeship program.
