Event Description

The Winter Policy Forum is a gathering for NASWA state workforce members to discuss current and developing trends in the workforce system and how they will be affected by changes occurring in the national landscape. The meeting focuses on collaborating with representatives from the Administration, Congress, U.S. Dept. of Labor, Intergovernmental (IGO) partner organizations, WIOA partners, and other D.C. policymaking groups.

The South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation was honored with the prestigious Pinnacle Award for Business Development for its Teacher Apprenticeship Program. Presented by the National Association of State Workforce Agencies’ (NASWA) Employment & Training Committee at the 2025 Winter Policy Forum in Washington, DC, this award is bestowed upon a state demonstrating excellence and innovation in the area of employer engagement.
